Hi,
 Well I went thro what you guys said and they all work kind of. I got double 
intro's, partial intro's.   I had a look at linux_logo, in that file is a 
full set of the switches that you  can use with it. By going into rc.local 
and  edit ing this line:-

   if   [ -x  /usr/bin/linux_logo ] ; then

TO :-
  if  [ -g   /usr/bin/linux_logo ] ; then 

will remove that very ugly Penguin. There are other switches which appear to 
be able to tidy Tux up but I have not tried them so ymmv.
