Every radical movement needs its extremists; they help to shift the
"middle ground".
At the moment maybe most people see MS's monopoly and RMS as the two
extremes with perhaps non-monopoly proprietary software in the centre.

The more radical RMS is, it will make less-eccentric free software
advocates look reasonable by comparison.
