Agreed that on a home network, it's not a major issue (which is why
I use it on mine, for instance). However, squashing root doesn't fix
anything. Anyone with root access can assume the UID of any other
user, and therefore read files owned by that user. All root_squash
does is force you to be creative to get at file contents, rather than
just being able to readthem directly.
