Seems likely that it was.

There was a very public exploit discussion surrounding ssh on OpenBSD 
systems a couple of weeks ago.

I suggest that you subscribe to buqtraq at the least and watch out for the 
things. It's likely that they used this one to get you given that you've 
stated that ssh was the only service running.
