Most of the pirated stuff he picks up are videos and DVD of US releases
not available in this country yet.  It is the kudos of seeing it first.
If the film turns out to be not as good as the hype he won't buy his
legitimate copy.  It also the swapping aspect of collecting he may not
like it but someone else does and they have that rare...
