I was ranting and generalising experiences, and didn't mean to make it
sound so personal.  Reading again in daylight makes me realise that it
was written so; apologies for that.

It's a great annoyance of mine.  There's such a chain of insult going on
between people who just haven't learnt a language or a model - Perl
programmers, for example, tend to insult Python coders and the language
without knowing more than some vague misconceptions of Python's design
ideas.  Those who _do_ try Python usually end up having an extra tool to
their belt, or even abandoning Perl for it.  I think my point is that
jumping on the bandwagon of something being a 'bad' language without
looking into it stinks of badly-rationalised ignorance.  But I realise
that you didn't do that at all.
