I've tried to load the module, but that fails. I don't know what
parameters it should be loaded with, so I'm trying to compile it into
the kernel instead.

Now this sounds intriguing... if need be, and nobody beats me to it I
will try :) Won't happen quite yet though, 'cause I have a exams on
monday, tuesday & thursday...
