I know it's a bit late now, but if that's the case, you'd probably have
been better off with a Matrox card. There is *no* reason to get an Nvidia
card for a Linux box unless you're after extreme 3D performance. Given
that UT ran quite happily on my Voodoo 3, I figured that a Radeon would
be more than adequate when I came to upgrade, and I didn't need the extra
handful of FPS that a GeForce would have given me, which also means I got
to avoid giving Nvidia any money.

Remember that you can't just take someone else's XF86Config-4 file
and plonk it on your machine unless the two machines are *identical*.
You can take the Device and Screen sections, but avoid the Monitor
sections, or you may end up damaging yours.
