[Gllug] Can't connect to the Internet.

Anybody have any idea what being blacklisted by wvdial means? Any
ex-blacklistees out there?
I was quite happy all day occcasionally using wvdial to get me on the
Internet. Later on in the day I was unable to get on coz of onetel.net
being oversubscribed or something. Instead of a dial tone I get a drone
sound. Anyway I'd press Ctrl+C to disconnect and get rid of the drone and
then run wvdial again. I must have done this about five times when I
suddenly got a message saying "BLACKLISTED".
Nothing I tried could get me beyond that message. It wouldn't dial anymore.
I tried logging on as root, as a different user. To no avail. Switched
hard/drives to use Windows and after the same performance (i.e. droning) I
finally got on after about 7 goes. 7 goes is about par for the course with
Onetel.net that's why I kept wvdial's nose to the metal. Unfortunately,
it's rebelled. My little knowledge tells me this is probably a security
thing. That's where my knowledge ends.
I've rooted around on the Internet and found a little - the interesting
bits are in German. My prowess with that is on a par with my Linux knowledge.
Any ideas? And maybe a suggestion as to how I can get wvdial to ignore the
number of consecutive times I ask it to dial out, at least until I jettison
onetel.net.
Much appreciated
Dermot
