[Gllug] How to kill a rogue process

Mick,
Just wondering, is there a way to find out what is the process waiting
for?. How would you know its waiting for I/O?
I had similar problem, and had to reboot the machine..just trying to
find out is there any other way without rebooting the machine.

Dear Tethys,

If it's waiting for I/O, then you can't kill it, even with
kill -9.  The only solution is to restart your machine.
