I had a rummage around OpenGL and missed this one. Cheers for offering to
loan the book but I will leave it for now. Intentions are to try and write
my own math library for vector, matrice and tree traversal work. I will
start with just the basic operations and then try to understand the
advantages/disadvantage of inlining, typedef's, const's etc etc. As I learn
these I will add them to the library as optimisations (SIMD looks
interesting). This cycle will hopefully avoid me doing my usual
cut/paste/hope cycle of coding. In this manner I will get to learn as much
C++ as possible which is my main aim. I have seen several bits on line about
matrice/vector work and I got the gist of a fair bit of it which surprised
me.
I want to put off having to use OpenGL or one of the other libraries until I
can understand exactly what is meant to be happening under the hood. This
way I wont end up digging myself a large hole and jumping in with no
understanding of what I am meant to be doing and spending more time
debugging than coding.
I found a few bits here if anyone is interested.
