Hi Steve
thanks of letting me know it compiled ok, I checked I had the required libraries and gave it a go.

Each time I run ./configure I get a different error, sometimes "Segmentation fault", sometimes "no graphics driver found". A couple of times it has completed but the table at the end indicates that not everything has been enabled, e.g, graphics or jpeg in the image types. Because it's different each time I'm a bit confused where to look for the problem. I assume running ./configure again doesn't cause any problems, I haven't run "make" yet. It also doesn't find the openssl libraries? even though I give the directory.

I'm using Debian 3.0 if anyone has any pointers. This is one of the reasons I try to stick to packages, I don't know enough about compiling and spend to much time not getting it to work.

thanks
Steve.
