I once had to rebuild a DNS master from the files on the slave when the
backup didn't contain... Well the system backup did, but it wasn't very
recent:(

The result was perfectly functional but extremely messy and hard to
manage. Slave files are not in any particular order nor do they contain
comments.

Approximately 4 years later I finished sorting the mess out.
