I am using the Logitech Cordless Trackman II Wheel with no problem.  Just 
plugged it into the ps2 port.  And the keyboard too.

The buttons work, the ball and the wheel also.

I don't know if the Windows side has battery power management - giving you 
a clue as to when you should change the batteries.  If it does, then we're 
missing out on that - with me, the pointer movement can become a bit 
erratic and the last thing I always think of is the batteries, but it 
always has been!  That happens every three months or so on Duracells.  
Next time I put in new batteries I'll kick off one of the mouse 
pedometers.

I'm using SuSE 8.0 too.
