If it's one of the black routers with integrated 4 port hub supplied by
BT, it's actually likely to be an Efficient Networks 5681 router. BT 
provided them with a BT specific kernel image, but they were often
hacked by users, as the procedure to re-flash the box with a standard
kernel was relatively well known.
