   The main problem is the continuously high data rate. The cheaper cards
aimed at M$ users will use software Mpeg processing by the main cpu, more
expensive cards may have a hardware Mpeg processor. The hard disc needs to
have sufficient steady data rate rather than maximum burst data rate, and
the existing disc space should be contiguous, difficult to guarantee during
editing.
