I would suggest though that you read Chapter 4 of the Cathedral and the
Bazaar[1] which can be found at many places including:
http://www.kde.org/food/cathedral/cathedral-paper-4.html

It suggests that releasing early and often will benefit your ideas more than
locking them away does.
