Looks like it's recognised as a USB-mass-storage device, so it should work.

I don't think these are there for mounting, but for 'internal' use. Someone
here might be able to explain further...

What console messages do you get when you hotplug the device? In Suse8.1 I get
a stream of messages including an sdX reference (for a Dazzle* reader).
That's the device for mounting, and the fs is /probably/ vfat.
