Have you tried doing things like:
/sbin/insmod usb-storage
/sbin/rmmod usb-storage
/sbin/insmod usb-storage
and taking out and re-inserting the card before and/or after the insmod?

It will be ready eventually. All it takes is that for each little issue
like this, a bug report be sent to the appropriate developer and hardware
manufacturer (hopefully with information on how to fix the problem) so that
future versions will work better - since without this, the developer
probably has no idea that anyone has ever had trouble with it and the
manufacturer has probably assumed that Linux doesn't exist.
Once we reach a certain point, hardware manufacturers will eventually
recognise operating systems other than MS Windows and either provide drivers
or (preferrably) open their specifications.
