[Gllug] Universities and degrees in computing.

There has been a lot of talk about whether University X has a good
reputation.
I am by no means an expert on this, but I would have thought it is more
important (or at least as important) to find a
 - department covering the area you want to research
 - a supervisor well known in this area (and that you will get on with)

I guess I am biased because I withdrew from a PhD at a prestigous
university, and with  hindsight wish I had
followed another option at a smaller department with someone I felt I would
have hit it off with.
