To use the patent weapon against FOSS it has to have a big a hit as possible, ie take
FOSS out of as many (important [[ tm ]]) countries as possible.

If patents was to be used in the US now, there is a risk of a large bell ringing in
the EU - so EU politicians might see what the dangers are and not bring in s/ware patents.
Far better to wait 'till it has been adopted and then use it.
