It's sensible for the cursor to be at the top of the message, as that makes
it easier for interleaved posting,  where the replies reply directly to
each point raised AT the point in the article where they are raised...

Like this one in fact. 
Putting the cursor at the bottom is no better than the top, cos you've still
got to move it back to close to the top to get to the part you're responding
to. I've seen some bloody stupid e-mail configurations though...

One even involved putting the SIG at the top above the quoted material.
Whose bright idea was that? And where can we find him? And has anyone got a
nice sledgehammer we could borrow?
