Probably images, but you'd have to check to be sure.

It's been many *many* years since I've had to parse an Apple resource
fork on Unix, but from memory, look at the 4 octets starting at offset
512 in the file. That should give you the chunk type (.e.g., PICT for
Apple images), to indicate what's in the file.
