Stable or testing? I'm not sure I can envisage testing getting that
small, as /var/lib/dpkg/available is 10MB on the box I'm sitting at...

(Mind you, mounting /var remotely is looking better all the time - with
these HD it will probably be faster, as well...)

Fortuitously, my window manager is "X -query thoth -dpi 100".

Then I won't tell you about my compulsion to actually have a runnable
emacs on every box in the building.

I've done some horrible things with partitions in my time... I'll see
how this one goes.
