I've used a variety of USB flash disks (CF, Smart Media) under Linux.
They're all pretty much plug them in, ensure they're mounted, and go.
The only problem is device naming -- with 2.4 kernels, each time you
unplug it and reinsert it, it changes name. Thus the first time, it'll
be /dev/sda, then next, /dev/sdb and so on (assuming you don't have
any other SCSI devices). How it behaves when it runs out of SCSI names,
I don't know...
You can probably get an automounter to hide some of the device naming
problems, but I find tailing /var/log/messages to spot the name works
well enough for me :-)
