[Gllug] Mozilla printing issue

Hi all

I am running Mozilla 1.01.01 on SuSe 8.1 with Cups. I can't get printing to
work properly. If I accept the default printer in Mozilla which uses lpr -P
MOZ_PRINTER_NAME or similar then I get a blank page followed by the page to
the default printer (lp).

I changed the name in the Mozilla properties to use printer2, this is same
printer but in draft mode and grayscale rather than the HQ colour that lp
points to. This printed exactly the same i.e in HQ colour.

A bit of a google revealed that changing the printer command to kprinter
should fix the problem (I'm using KDE). If I use kprinter on its own then
kprinter wants either a filename or suggests stdin. I have tried using
kprinter --stdin for the print command and then kprinter is happy although
all it prints is lots of blank pages.

Any ideas?

One other thing, there are some choices in kprinter dialog the default is to
use lpd, I chose to use CUPS as this is how I installed the printers, was
this the correct thing to do. I have tested all modes from the CUPS module
in YAST and I do get the quality / colour I expected.

Cheers

Alastair
