It Depends[tm]

If the goods are being exported from Canada then you'll need to pay VAT on 
them. If you're VAT registered, you can reclaim this as usual.

If what you have described is accurate, you're not importing the goods, 
they remain the property of $company in Canada and are being used in the 
UK.  It's akin to someone from Canada bringing a laptop into the country.
