The best solution is to try to build up your no claims bonus and get it
protected as soon as pos, then you don't lose your hard earned no claims
and even if it "joint Liability" or some other nasty outcome you will
still have cheap insurance.

Most companies allow protection of no claims after 4 or 5 year, I would
recomend a protected policy even if it costs 10 - 20 % more than the
next best offer as that is bound to be the year when you get into an
accident and end up paying when you lose half of your no claims. 

BUT be warned not all protected policies are equal, most allow 3
accidents in 2 years, apparently e-sure will protect for life but the
policies are prohibotive so it isn't really worth while unless you are
driving an ex-desert storm armour plated bullet proof, auto burrowing
underground nuclear bomb shelter (with cup holders!)
