It's not just pixel perfect requirements. LCDs can't match even
a moderately high end CRT for resolution, refresh rates or gamut.
Consequently, I find a good CRT is much easier on the eyes than
an LCD. I suspect people that claim the opposite have only ever
used low end CRTs...

I'm currently using an Eizo FlexScan T765. It's good enough to do
a decent resolution at a sensible refresh rate (1920x1440, 75Hz).
I'd like a higher refresh rate, but that particular monitor is in
a nice sweet spot on the price/performance curve, and is a good
buy on a limited budget.
