[Gllug] getting a suse to boot

Hello all,

I have a suse box that refuses to boot saying
Master Resource control, previous runlevel N switching to runlevel 5

the problem is that because it is booting up tin graphical mode 
"which is very pretty" I cant get a login prompt so I acan start 
looking at what went wrong and so on.

Any clues at how do I get a text mode prompt.

I have tried the Kill xserver crtl alt backspace and nothing happens.
