[Gllug] SMB causing hanging processes

Hi all,

I have a problem with a box I hope people can help me out with.

I have a linux box (redhat 7.3) which had a share from a win2k box
mounted on /mnt/win2k.

At some point, roughly 7 days ago, the win2k box was restarted. Today I
discovered that when cron ran cron.daily that night, updatedb blocked into
a DN state (according to ps). The same thing has happened each night since
then.

I noticed it today when I tried to install an rpm, which blocked into a D
state. lsof is also blocking, as is a simple ls on the mounted partition.

I can't umount it (device is busy) and root can't kill -9 the processes.

Does anyone know how to unblock this without rebooting the server (which I
really don't want to do, except as a last resort) ?

Many thanks,

Simon.
