you can get rpms for xmms-mp3 from 

http://staff.xmms.org/priv/redhat8/
or
http://psyche.fedora.us/apt/RPMS.fedora/

Ogg Vorbis is another audio codec - it's explained in the redhat link I
sent in my earlier mail. http://www.vorbis.com/faq.psp

I believe the plf http://plf.zarb.org supply mandrake rpms and a urpmi
repository for rpms that can't be in the base distro.
