Oh, I agree completely, but that only works when there are viable
alternatives available. If it's a choice between a proprietary
formats and nothing, then the proprietary format is going to win
every time. There aren't any viable open file formats for project
management or visio style diagrams. Until there are, it's not a
battle that can be won, so it's best not to try -- you'll only
get a reputation as an extreme ideallist, which may harm your
chances of winning other battles...
