FWIW,

After receiving *lots* of advice on this list we built a server with 2 x 80
Gb OS and 5 * 250 Gb IDE - Software RAID 5

It runs REALLY well on a supermicro MoBo and 3 x Promise IDE cards (£27
each)

£1300 for a Terabyte server!

What more could you want?

Hot swap!

Well, apart from hot swap?

SCSI!
