If they DID do that, wouldn't ICANN have the authority to withdraw their
domain privilages and take over administration of the .com and .net domains
themselves?
Verisign are obviously abusing their position, and ICANN have been gentle so
far. They *should* have the right to force them to return to no-wildcards
though.
