I might be being daft here, but the S40 uses a CF card, and I assumed
the S45/S50 would too. CF cards are easy to use under Linux - just go
to TCR and buy the cheapest possible USB CF card reader & plug it in.
It should appear as a SCSI drive, and on most recent distributions will
auto-mount and appear as a directory of JPEGs.
