Howdy

Can a question about MRTG.
I installed mrtg-2.10.11. with gd-2.0.22, libpng-1.2.5 and zlib 1.2.1.
And running Apache apache_1.3.29.

It installed zlib first, then libpng and then gd. All when fine without any
hickups, I think.(no errors showed up and everything compiled without
complaints)
I created the mrtg.cfg file and then tried to run mrtg using the following.
/usr/local/mrtg-2/bin/mrtg /usr/local/mrtg/cfg/mrtg.cfg
--logging=/var/log/mrtg.log

It complained about my envioroment, namely the lang setting. I edited
/etc/sysconfig/i18n and changed it to "en_GB" instead of "en_GB.UTF-8".
Rebooted the machine and ran the command again.

This time it ran for about 5 seconds before going back to the shell. But it
didn't create any files in /usr/local/apache/htdocs/mrtg, or anywhere else
for that matter.

Here is my mrtg.cfg

# Created by
# /usr/local/mrtg-2/bin/cfgmaker --global 'WorkDir:

'IconDir: icons' --snmp-options=:::::2 --subdirs=HOSTNAME --ifref=ip

### Global Config Options

# for UNIX
# WorkDir: /home/http/mrtg

# or for NT
# WorkDir: c:\mrtgdata

### Global Defaults

# to get bits instead of bytes and graphs growing to the right
# Options[_]: growright, bits

EnableIPv6: no
WorkDir: /usr/local/apache/htdocs/mrtg
Options[_]: bits, growright
IconDir: icons

AND my mrtg.log

2004-04-16 14:30:14 -- Started mrtg

.

I have 5 systems to check and two of them have quite a few ports that are in
use, could it be that its still creating those files ?
Im confused?

Thanks
Charles
