I am running Red Hat Fedora (on 192.168.1.101), and am trying to access
files on a machine running Windows (192.168.1.100). I also have Windows
on the Linux machine, and can access files on the other Windows machine
that way. I am using a router with IP address 192.168.1.1
I have run through the LISa Daemon guided set up in <Control
Centre><Local Network Browsing> and have the following settings:
Send pings to IP addresses:
192.168.0.0/255.255.255.0-192.168.1.101/255.255.255.0
Broadcast network address: 192.168.1.101/255.255.255.0;
Trusted IP addresses:
192.168.1.101/255.255.255.0;192.168.1.100/255.255.255.0
When I type smb:/ into Konqueror I get "Unable to find any workgroups in
your local network"
When I type lan:/ into Konqueror, I get "The lisa daemon does not appear
to be running. In order to use the lan browser the lisa daemon must be
installed and activated by the system administrator"
I have three questions:
1. What is the difference between typing "lan:/" and "smb:/" into the
Konqueror address bar?
2. How do I run the LISa daemon?
3. Do my settings look right?
Can anyone help?
