[Gllug] Apache mod_ssl

I was wondering for those who host ssl on lots of webservers how they 
manage the ssl keys and passwords.

I have run web hotels previously but the ssl websites were all run on a 
couple of boxes and apache did not fail in the three years I was working 
there, thus having a scripts to automatically restart apache was 
irrelevant.  Running a large number of servers increases the chance of a 
failure. 

Do people use certificates without passwords?  Or do they just manually 
restart each apache process?
