the zaurus only has a small memory bandwidth, this way, every frame you 
view will be shunted about in memory in some way about 3 times or so 
more than the standard zaurus fbdev stuff with qtopia/qpe/gpe.

but that said, i dont use debian because of x :-)

i think i might untar the arm debian base onto an sd card and play with 
it in chroot
