They probably have some multicast equivalent for some of the streaming
video stuff which cuts down on bandwidth usage per handset.

If you are actually wanting to watch football then I would assume there
also others in the local cell who might want to do so too - then again
cell size is much reduced and blah blah blah etc. Does anyone know a
resource for the technical details behind the 3G infrastructure?
