[Gllug] slow data transfer

Hi everyone.

I'm having a problem with the download speeds of my internet connection.
It's taking on average upwards of 4-5 minutes just to load a page.

I'm using mandrake 9.1.  I'm using a dial up connection.  My modem is a Tixi
serial modem connecting at 115 kbps.  Even using this it shouldn't be taking
this long to load a page.

My security setting is for standard (it's a stand alone WINux box) and gary
(my log in) is the administrator.  any ideas would be appreciated.
