Heh -- I discovered this last night and am equally impressed.  I
installed Apt on by Fedora box and did

# apt-get update
# apt-cache search dvd

The list mentioned totem, so I installed that (not the gstreamer version
-- I couldn't play DVDs when that was installed but could once I removed
it) and it works like a dream :o)
