Not wanting to contradict, but 5 people, myself included, all got Demon at the same time at the end of 2001.  I have since lived in 3 different locations, and my friend has lived in two.  Out of the 5 people, all five have had no problems at all.  On the very rare occasions when I have needed to talk to tech support, they have been intelligent and helpful.

Demon == strong recommendation.
