'------' is not right either.  The "standard" delimiter is '-- ' on a line
by itself.  Yes, that's "dash dash *space*".  This comes from Usenet
conventions from the early 80s.  Also, it's considered bad form to have more
than three or four lines of signature, especially when you have only one or
two lines of content.
