£199.99 is my guess

My first cd drive came with a sound card in a big box from evesham micros
(£499.99 IIRC)

I'm spending this morning sorting through (and mostly chucking out) old
filed material. I've just come across an invoice dated 20/7/1993 for a
Mitsumi CD-ROM drive. This was the first affordable (in that it was
much, much cheaper than any of the existing offerings) CD-ROM drive to
appear. Anyone like to hazard a guess as to the price?

Incidentally, I still have the drive and it still works. It uses its
own proprietary interface card (not IDE or SCSI) and Linux still
recognizes and uses it just fine.
