I bought a SCSI card and CD Rom for the first time just about this time (to 
run Win NT 3.1 beta would you believe) - I think I paid about £500 for the 
combination (the ISA SCSI card is still in use, or at least it's still 
plugged into a box).

I think it was probably about £125
