It's a while since I set up a connection with freeserve - but as memory 
serves they have an auto-configuration utility for windows (that 
automatically installs loads of junk, shows adverts all over the place etc)

this utility appeared to be windows only - but was a plain text file 
containing all the info I needed :)

they may also have instructios for windows users who want to set this 
stuff up manually and avoid the junk.
