Well, in GNOME 1 you had to say

,----[ /etc/orbitrc ]
| ORBIIOPIPv4=1
| ORBIIOPUSock=1
`----

but in GNOME 2 I don't know what you have to do (avoiding upgrading to
it: I dislike the GNOME philosophy to such an extent that I'll probably
jump ship to KDE, even though I despise Qt.)
