[Gllug] Wireless LAN + Linux

Hi all,
I am planning to set up a simple wireless LAN at my
office.I have a NEC VERSA laptop running mandrake 10
with INTEL WIRELESS PRO LAN 2100 MINI-PCI NIC 802.11B
WLAN card.
Has anyone configured this WLAN card before ?Also do
access points depend on the operating system or can i
buy any WLAN access point without having to worry
about linux ?
Your suggestions are appriciated.
